2009-2010 mid-year highlights

 

• 93% core subject credit attainment
• 90% of participants surveyed rated the program as "very good" or “excellent”
• 80% of participants from 2008-2009 returned
• Trained and placed over 60 tutors
• New partnership with Tupper Alternate Program
• Expansion of partnership with UBC Trek Program
• Out-trips: Take a Hike snowshoeing, Vancouver Police Museum and Olympic Curling
• Workshops and Speakers: Take a Hike outdoor survival, Ross Rebagliati, NerdCorps animation, Leave Out Violence (LOVE), stress management and BASE sexual health

2008-2009 Highlights

 

• Launched new Thunderbird site in March
• 100% core subject credit attainment for participants
• 25/26 participants surveyed said they would recommend the program to their friends
• 9/10 teachers surveyed said they saw an increase in homework completion
• Many students went skating, swimming or bowling for the first time
