A tutor works with LIFT participants at Mt. Pleasant Neighbourhood House

Volunteer Tutoring & Mentoring

Comments from LIFT Volunteers

“Awesome students, great co-tutors, a good space to work in, and good support from Erica.  I feel like I am contributing to the community”

“I can’t express how fond I’ve become of the students and the environment at the Homework Club. There’s nothing quite like the moment that a student smiles at you and feels comfortable asking for your help, or appears at your side and excitedly tells you that he/she got a good mark on an assignment that you worked on together the week before, or seeks you out to play a game or tell you a story.  Moments like these can really turn around a person’s week, and I’m always a particularly happy guy on Thursdays thanks to them.  I’ve also really enjoyed meeting and getting to know the other tutors at the club”
